DataTreasury Patent Litigation
For over a decade, Nelson J. Roach and his former firm represented DataTreasury Corporation in its efforts to hold the largest banks throughout the United States accountable for their infringement of DataTreasury’s seminal and important patents governing electronic check processing and other systems. As part of its decade-long effort, Nelson served as the lead trial lawyer in two trials on behalf of DataTreasury. In the first trial against US Bank, Viewpointe, and SVPCo, he obtained a $54 million jury verdict that included a finding of willful patent infringement. A few months later, Nelson led the trial efforts against Bank of America. That trial resulted in a settlement during trial.
