Nelson Roach
For over a decade, Nelson Roach and his former firm, along with Ben King, represented DataTreasury Corporation in its efforts to hold the largest banks throughout the United States accountable for their infringement of DataTreasury’s seminal and important patents governing electronic check processing and other systems. Through their representation, DataTreasury’s attorneys recovered more than $350 million through settlement and trial. As part of its decade long effort, Mr. Roach served as the lead trial lawyer in two different trials on behalf of DataTreasury. In the first trial against US Bank, Viewpointe, and SVPCo, he obtained a $54 million jury verdict that included a finding of willful patent infringement. A few months later, Mr. Roach led the trial efforts against Bank of America. That trial resulted in a settlement during trial.
